For ages 0 to 10
Getting a swimmer used to the water at an early age has the most benefits. This class focuses on swimmers getting used to swimming in water, and we also start teaching swimmers here beginner survival skills.
The goals in this class are for the swimmer to comfortably enter the water without any fear, or any crying. We also want the swimmer to get used to the idea of floating, and to be able to put their face in the water while holding their breath.
Ages 0-5
This class focuses on getting babies familiar with water and comfortable in water. Along with the baby, a parent also gets into the water with the kid, and the parent does most of the activities until the baby starts getting comfortable with letting the instructor take over.
Goals:
No crying/fear in the water
Able to float on back with instructor/parent assistance for 10 seconds
Okay with letting instructor do activities
Able to hold breath when going underwater
Ages 3-10
This class now focuses on half parent, half instructor water activities. Instead of getting used to the water, the swimmer will now try to focus on the swimmer’s survival skills. Both the instructor and the parent will be in the water teaching the baby advanced water survival skills.
Goals:
Able to separate from parents
Able to float on back with instructor/parent assistance for 20 seconds
Able to be submersed underwater without fear
